Founded by Wojciech Bednarski at the end of the 19th century, the eight and half hectare park is greatly loved by the city. Despite very little development (the park has an unpretentious walking path), it is one of the most beautiful natural spaces around Krakow. It has more than one hundred different species of trees. Check out the ruins of an 18th century fortification. Don’t miss the limestone cliffs; try and imagine a quarry at work, for that’s what the place used to be in the middle ages. Vividly green in spring and summer, ethereal in spring and autumn, the park is a fantastic hangout in all seasons.
