Szeroka Street - Review
The street is among the handful of locations in the city made famous by the Steven Spielberg’s movie Schindler’s List. This is perhaps the most important street and square in the district of Kazimierz, and even before that it was the heart of the Bawol village. Visitors say it still feels like medieval market. It was a major part of the Jewish Quarter, and has important historical synagogues such as Old Synagogue, Remuh Synagogue, and Wolf Popper's Synagogue. Also on the street is the old Rubinstein family house (of cosmetics mogul Helena Rubinstein), which now functions as a hotel. Surrounding the square are many Jewish cafes and restaurants. Despite the tourist appeal, there is something spiritual about this place.
