After you’ve checked out the historical Benedictine Abbey, check out this historic village. It’s thought that this area has been inhabited since the Paleolithic. Once, Celtic coins were manufactured here. The village has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times, by the Mongols and the Tatars and the Swedes, and it still looks as charming as ever. There’s not much to do in the village itself, and that’s kind of the point. The idea is to stop looking for things to do, to slow down and just take a stroll. Notice and meditate upon the little details of everyday Polish country life. If you have a bike, that’s even better - take it along the river for some invigorating exercise.
