Located on the other side of a 50-year old swinging bridge, the Kampong Pil Pagoda Buddhist temple is perhaps one of the few places around the city where you can get a private Buddhism lesson. The temple pagoda is elaborately designed with classic Khmer architecture. The grand entrance gate is artistically carved and a walk inside takes you toa rather quaint, the tranquil spot where you can admire the simpler times. There are statues around the temple area that depict events from the life of Buddha and a statue of the reclining Buddha that is a highlight of the place.

The temple is located a mere 6.5 kilometer away from Battambang but you can explore the more rustic side of the village on the way. There are fields and farmlands that surround the temple and even though not one of the popular tourist attractions, you can stop by at the place to experience the common life of Cambodia.
