Satara Restcamp, Kruger National Park Reviews
Beautiful view and bird life. Accommodation not very clean inside. Mould in showers. Dirty light switches. Air con not very effective. Room not ready at 2pm. We had to ask for bath towels. Place in need of a serious revamp.
The bungalows here are nice and generally we enjoyed that. But the restaurants on site here were THE WORST in Kruger. Awful wait time, terrible food, crappy resolution, etc. If you stay here then just be sure to cook all your meals then you'll be fine. Store is quite comprehensive in what it has, too. Guides are excellent and thorough.
Stayed for two nights and we were very disappointed!! Horrible campsite. Payed for a power point but none available. Campers seems to camp where ever they pleases because there are no demarcated campsites. Abultions in desperate need of some maintenance. Staff not very helpful. Restaurant service very slow. Only the gardens at reception are well maintained rest of it in terrible state. Only nice thing about Satara is the well stock shop.
Nice camp, not too busy as the southern camps. Around this area it is common to spot the Big 5. Bungalow (BC2) is basic but contains all the needed amenities. Recommended!
What a disappointment! We camped for 5 nights. Showers are shocking, dirty with poor to no water pressure. The shower heads are blocked and have not been cleaned since they where installed. In the 5 days we did not once see a manager checking on the staff. The braais are barely cleaned and the campsite is generally dirty with small pieces of trash everywhere. Some of the lights around the wash up area are not working. The restaurant is very poorly run and very expensive, also neglected with lights not working and benches needing to be upholstered. Don't eat the Kraal buffet, absolute rip off. The shop is well stocked and the only positive at the camp, although expensive, at least justified.
