One of a kind amongst restaurants in Malaysia, it is a place where you need to cover your sense of sight and feel with all other senses. Dining In The Dark Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur Reviews

  • Amazing hospitality service. Hostess Joy, accompanied my party to the waiting area where she served a refreshing drink and we played a game to stimulate our senses for the journey ahead. Our guide was known as A.K., polite and friendly server from Kedah. Definitely knows what he was doing. Throughout all 4 courses, good, hot, delicious food. At the end of every course, A.K., always asked what the favourite dish was. At the end of the dinner, we were given our menu and I personally got only 3 or 4 items from the whole menu correct. Definitely recommended experience.

  • Wonderful sensory experience! The darkness was slightly unnerving at first but our guide, Marcus, was so reassuring and patient that we were quickly put at ease. Food is decent, and it was very interesting to be discovering your taste sensory in the dark. Will highly recommend for anyone in the city looking for something out of the ordinary!

  • A really fun and unique way to spend an evening. Dining in the Dark is a lovely venue, with very friendly hosts to give you through the evening. Being thrust into the darkness to try and experience dining in a new way was a lot of fun, and quite confronting. Trying to identify the flavours presented to you makes you appreciate how much we rely on our vision to amplify our other senses. The food itself was quite nice, and in a western style. Worth experiencing at least once, with some good humoured company.

  • We started off with a few rounds of empty spoon, empty fork, then my husband decided to go back to the basic utensil - hand 😂😂😂 And then we tried feeding each other, I fed sorbet to his chin, he fed me with the back of the spoon. Nice 😂 Since the menu was kept in the dark from us, we just have to guess the food, and we realized how much we've taken our tastebuds for granted, though we got most guesses right, some dishes surprised us. ~ Food is very tasty, their secret menu will change after few months, so, I will definitely visit again. Our waiter AK was very attentive, wonderful, chatty, speak good English. The best part of this experience was.. my husband was phonelesssss!! Though it was weird at first 🤣🤣

  • This was a unique experience in a good way. You eat your food in total darkness served by visually impaired waiters. The menu is a surprise (they'll tell you what you ate afterwards) It is so dark your eyes will not adjust. It is a 4 course meal for one price (all drinks extra) You are eating 13 different things. They take very good care of you here. I was on a first date and we both needed to hold both of our hands together immediately because of the darkness. No complaints here. Note: They will change the menu sometime next month as it's quarterly. They don't let you choose the food but they will ask about your preferences. Pork free but not officially halal.
