National Palace- Istana Negara - Review

Instana Negara is known as National Palace in Kuala Lumpur. Considered as the favourite tourist spot where they welcome you with arch guards. Istana Negara was reconstructed by architect from Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Malaysia and it took 4 months to complete the renovations that however did not affect the main structure of the building. In a way, it is like a melange of historical and contemporary Malaysia.

This impressive palace of white and gold is certainly worth seeing. This very pretty building is a rather underrated but very interesting sight in Kuala Lumpur. If you are in the mood for doing something tourists don’t always do, check out this one. Also, visit nearby attractions in the city which are covered in Kuala Lumpur itinerary 3 days.

National Palace- Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur Reviews

  • This majestic looking palace is worth the visit. Awesome architecture with huge gate and beautiful landscaped garden. It has a large square in front of the main entrance of palace. Visitors can only take photos at the square. You can also take photo with the guard of honour. If you are lucky, you may get to see marching guards and guards riding horses.

  • I couldn't enter this place. I didn't know it was accessible to public. All i could do was stand in front of the majestic gates and click photos under the scorching sun. I could see the palace at a distance and the guards at the gate, 2 of them were on top of their horses on both sides of the gate. I didn't feel it was worth the visit.

  • The view is cool. We can just easily see the palace and a wide open space in front of it. So good if you want to take picture there. Be careful because somehow the place is packed of people.

  • Very grand sight to see. However there is a specific time around the year when they allow visitors to enter. Unluckily, the time i visited was a bad time so i had to make do with the outside campus. But it is a nice place to visit, the management and cleanliness is spot on. You could see the KL tower and the petronas twin tower at a distance. Parking spot is good. Not too much to see from the outside campus.

  • Stunning great place huge massive it's like Fort Knox huge iron fencing around the perimeter from what i understand the King is worth around 42 million or billion $ and has an estimated 6,000 cars wouldn't mind being a part of his family.
