We choose this hotel because of the charm of a colonial place. They have a new wing and that’s where our room was. Very spacious and clean. No complaints. The reasons I can’t give 4 stars are: the pool could be upgraded and restaurant wise, it could have more options, since there’s no place to eat really walking distance from the hotel. We aren’t buffet style lovers :( Location wise: by the highway, easy to jump on it and go to Batu Caves or the zoo, but a little outskirts from downtown
Great mini getaway to KL while staying at the Majestic Hotel. Loved that the hotel has the newer side and the colonial side. Everything was tastefully decorated fitting of the theme. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only a few small drawbacks: 1. The breakfast was large but the selection of food is relatively small and the staff there do not seem well train. I often had to get out of their way while they carry things. As well, they forgot my drink and other orders more often than they fulfilled them. 2. The high tea in the orchid garden is supposed to be a famous experience but we found that while it is unique and the food is good, it certainly does not justify the price compared to other high tea offerings, all things considered. 3. Our cards were disabled before we checked out even though I checked with concierge to confirm my checkout time. Caused a bit of hassle and put a slight risk on the airport transport / flight schedule. All in all, because everything else was so positive, I cannot give this hotel less than 4.5 stars so I will round it up to 5. Great experience, will consider visiting again.
Stayed one night. Beautiful colonial hotel gives a sense of the good old times. Hidden gem in the city centre. The hi-tea is set in a beautiful open area with music. Missed this but will definitely come again. Beautiful rooms and bathroom. Overall enjoyed my one night stay
I’m a frequent biz traveller, to be honest it was quite disappointing as they are not up to a proper 5star standard. From room design (shower room water flow out all the time, huge toilet but tiny room for the toilet bowl seat that you might hit your head if you try to stand up etc) to cleaner forgot to clean the toilet bowl...and their breakfast(first time had a waffle that cannot cut through by a knife)....just really up not to the industry standard. But overall service is good as their staff are very friendly and attentive. Someone saw me waiting at the queue and quickly came over to help me check out at another counter. Still have huge rooms of improvement.
4.5 rating very nice lunch buffet at great price with nice ambience. They should have stationed more servers, we could hardly find one but manager was helpful. They can improve some of the western dishes but local food and Japanese was tasty. Liked their desserts and good coffee but...you have to get it from the coffee bar yourself. For an open kitchen concept, a few of the chefs should have cleaner uniforms/attire. Improve all the above and would be 5 stars. Check out their orchid room if yoy have time
