Oppilianppan or Uppiliappan Temple which is also known by the name of Thiruvinnagar of Venkatachalapathy Temple is a Hindu temple located near Thirunageswaram, just outside of Kumbakonam. This temple is dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu and is built using the Dravidian style of architecture. The Uppiliappan Temple is the 60th of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu. The temple’s construction started in the late 8th century AD and was initiated by the Medieval Cholas. Its five-tiered rajagopuram (gateway tower) is one of the tallest in the area. There are numerous shrines and water bodies inside the temple complex.
