The Kampaheswarar Temple is situated in the town of Thirubuvanam, along the Mayiladuthurai-Kumbakonam Road, some 6.5

kilometres north of Kumbakonam. At this temple, Lord Shiva is worshiped as ‘Kampaheswarar’ since he was believed to have relieved Kampa (quaking) of a king who was haunted by evil spirits. There are many more legends associated with this temple. The temple follows a Dravidian style of architecture but has an unusually high vimana - the structure over the sanctum.
