Kundeswara Temple - Review
Located in the village of Kundapura, the Kundeswara Temple is famous for its exclusivity. The village is named after the temple, so you can imagine how ancient the temple would be. The distinctiveness of the temple lies in its idol. Lord Shiva is worshipped here in the form of a “Lingam”. While the entire idol is around four feet tall, only 75% of it is visible, with the rest under the earth. This unique form of the lord is a must-see to all devotees. The temple is spectacular during festivals, with flowers, lamps and traditional decorations. Crowds are at the peak during this time. However, on any usual day, the temple is quiet and tranquil, perfect for meditation and praying. The temple is in the vicinity of the Panchagangavli River, and a walk along the banks is as relaxing as can be.
