They kicked us out for entering the space and making 2-3 steps in the shoes. We arrived very tired and very hungry, looking forward to a great culinary experience as per Tripadvisor reviews. I opened the door and our family of 4 entered the tiny space just behing the door. There was no one so I put my foor on the first of the (hardwood) steps leading to what appeared like a tiny waiting hall with a sofa. Suddenly, a lady emerged, started screaming "Shoes, shoes, shoes" and basically drove us out with a rag in her hand. I admit we may be silly tourists but surely there are more polite ways how to tell your guests? There could be a sign before the entrance if you want your guests to remove shoes immediatelly behind the door. Needless to say, we found a much friendlier place in Gion and had a great dinner elsewhere. It was the single rudest moment we experienced in all of Japan.
Very good food and nice view on the canal. The food is cooked in the kitchen but served on the hot plate on the table, seafood udon were delicious!
Quick service, tasty food and open all afternoon. A great place to eat after walking along Philosopher's walk. There is air conditioning, a multilingual menu, takes credit cards and is a good place for a view of the river and late lunch or early dinner. I recommend the Kimchi Pork fried Udon. The place seats about 20, and has bar seats and a few small tables.
where better to try okonomiyaki? great views onto Gion corner.
Staffs were very friendly and the food was also good, but if you're willing to pay a bit more for better quality I would recommend to. And it was full of Korean people for some reason.
