  • The food was really good and the portions were really big for the price! The staff was really nice and helpful. I recommend going early because the place is quickly crowded.

  • Awesome Izakaya! Very friendly owners! So much good food, difficult to pick :-)

  • My favourite restaurant in Japan! the head chef and his sister (waitress) both speak some English and were very accommodating towards us. We stayed in Kyoto three nights and ate here for two of them and tried everything on the menu. Hopefully I'll get the chance to return there one day.

  • Eat here. Locals and foreigners together in harmony. Great food, had an awesome waitress, will help you forget the times you were denied entry at other restaurants for not being Japanese.

  • My favourite restaurant on our trip to Japan. Delicious food, great atmosphere and fun waiting staff (all very enthusiastic and trying to help us out even though they didn't speak English - there is an English menu though). Seemed to be more local than touristy which I loved and the value for money is good too. Would definitely go back there if ever lucky enough to be in Kyoto again.
