Museo Del Mar Reviews & Ratings

  • Certainly worth going. The collection is amazing.

  • Fun, quirky museum next to La Barra. A mix of everything: from Uruguay's sealife, punta del este's origin and even pirate stories. Definetly worth checking out with or without kids and a good choice for a rainy day.

  • Museo del Mar is ideal for anyone interested in sea, ocean, and coastal history, geography, archeology, geology, paleontology, marine biology, regional flora and fauna no matter the age of the one attending. It's specialized in the history of the Río de la Plata -River Plate- and the whole coast of Uruguay, but it has objects from all around the globe. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a five star rate is the humidity inside the museum and the strong smells, also there is no natural lighting and an excess of signs with information that makes it visually tiring. But in the whole its a museum woth visiting, you'll certainly see and learn some interesting facts you've probably never imagined!

  • Just a wonderful museum!!!

  • The shell collection is amazing.
