R Shaefer Heard Park Reviews & Ratings

  • Beautiful decor, clean rooms, professional service. Good room service. We got complimentary dessert--sweet potato cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies! EXCELLENT! Their breakfast is very tasty. My grandbabies wanted chocolate milk. They didn't have any but the chef MADE SOME for them!

  • The staff was awesome, helpful and very friendly. The campground was clean and well set up with a great number of sites with awesome views. I would have given it 5 stars but I love to fish and the fishing at West Point Lake is terrible. Also bring lots of ant poison as our truck and camper are now infested. If you are afraid of huge cockroaches as my wife is, don’t use the bathhouse after dark.

  • Great park. Would be a 5 star if the people at the check in were nicer. Every time I check in or have to go through the gate they make it seem as if I am bothering them. Would stay more often but don't want to have to deal with them and their negative attitudes

  • Went hiking on the Lakeside trail, and it took me about an hour to do it there and back pretty leisurely. The trail was well taken care of and it had facilities at both ends! Highly recommended!

  • There are some really nice cozy spots here with a nice lake. Great price and well kept. It is a little older and the spot we were in was very, very tight [83]. I would still comeback though to try out one of the spots in 30 series.
