Monte Chacaltaya is a mountain in the Cordillera Real mountain range of the Bolivian Andes. This mountain has an 18000-year-old glacier called the Chacaltaya's glacier, while the mountain stands tall at an elevation of 5,421 meters (17,785 feet). This glacier completely vanished in the year 2009. Over the years, this glacier had served as Bolivia’s ski resort and the world's highest lift-served ski area. Having one of the most difficult trekking trials in the world, this mountain is visited by many enthusiastic trekkers.
