I attended an Astrophotography course at Lacock Photography. We had a great evening and the tutor was very knowledgeable. I'd recommend Lacock Photography any day!
Brilliant couple of days spent learning all about photography. Fiona is a great teacher and incredibly patient, I can't recommend them highly enough.
I've done two courses now at Lacock and both have been excellent. The venue itself is a perfect environment for learning and the lunch provided on both occasions was excellent. Andy & Fiona are excellent hosts and even let me borrow a rather expensive lens when mine had some issues. The two course I have done both excellent. First, natural light portraits with Anna Durrant. An excellent teacher, everything she showed us was explained and made sense. Then, low key, fine art studio portrait lighting with David Shoukry. Another excellent teacher who knew his stuff and helped us set up some lighting patterns , then showed us his editing workflow. Always willing to answer any questions.
I cannot recommend Lacock Photography highly enough. I attended my first course, a two day ‘Beginners Digital Photography Course’ in 2017. As a newcomer to DSLR photography it was perfect. The course tutor Fiona, who along with her husband Andy, owns and runs Lacock Photography, was excellent and I went away having learned a huge amount and full of confidence. Since then I have returned for four more courses; a one-day ‘Night Photography’ workshop, a one-day ‘Creative Composition & Critique’ workshop, a two-day ‘Landscape Photography’ course and most recently a two-day ‘Intermediate Digital Photography’ course. Some have been run by Fiona and Andy; others by specialist external tutors. All however, have been worthwhile and highly enjoyable. I have not yet been on a course organised by Lacock Photography where I haven’t had a good time whilst also learning new and very useful photography techniques. Courses are run in comfortable, attractive and practical, purpose-built facilities and also take full advantage of the scenery provided by the beautiful village of Lacock and its surrounding countryside. Fiona and Andy create a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, and the external tutors they use are all talented professional photographers. If, like me, you’re looking for a way to learn new photography skills and techniques, without the need to commit to long, formal courses, then I would heartily recommend Lacock Photography. Next on my list are at least one of their Photo Editing courses, followed by the Digital Photography Masterclass. First however, I need to get out and put into practice some of the many things I learnt on the Intermediate Digital Photography course.
A huge thank you to Fiona who ran Beginners digital photography last Friday and who made what had previously been totally incomprehensible to me, logical and manageable
