Established in 1994, this refuge covers more than 18,000 acres of diverse habitats including wetlands, marshes, flatlands and dense forests, thereby creating a unique ecosystem for wildlife to flourish. You will be amazed at the variety of fish that you can catch at Lake Ponchar train. It is also possible to hunt small animals and deer here, but you will need a permit for it. The most enjoyable activity at the Big Branch Marsh Wildlife Refuge is wildlife viewing across five miles of well-marked trails.
