Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge, Lacombe Reviews
I went here today for the Cajun Christmas. It was awesome. Everyone there was so nice. I loved how they have a lot of stuff to look at while you wait in line. So sweet to do the crafts, cookies, and hot coco for free. All the staff was super friendly. I felt like I was at home. It's really nice! The camera guy was so nice, not getting aggravated to have a group photo after an individual, like some other places. Thank y'all for putting this on.
Beautiful place. Watching birds like great egrets and gulls feeding, enjoying the lake and marshes.
Nice place to walk around. I hoped to see more wildlife, but I am assuming the times that I have gone has been later in the day. I kind if wish they would have a bench to set on at more of the stops. I had come here in March and again in July, the grass along the path had grown extremely high, it's a bit unsettling to walk through, but still a nice time. Try it, either way a great way to experience a relaxing time.
It was a little hard to find (use the boy scout road entrance!), but we had a great time. It was very pretty and relatively secluded. The walk was long enough to feel like a real hike despite being very flat. Several people had dogs so it appears dog friendly.
I stop here every time I leave New Orleans. Beautiful Louisiana scenery. I love the boardwalk over the marsh. Great place to bird watch and spot other wildlife.
