With abstract shapes of sandstone cliffs segregated over the years, today the Ponta da Piedade offers a surreal view with natural geological formations including secret grottos, beautiful cliffs, rock pillars that are 20 meters tall, arches that form gateways to small lagoons and tunnels carved by the water – all complementing the pristine turquoise water of the North Atlantic Ocean.
In spite of the gorgeous view from the many pathways around the cliffs, a boat ride through the water is what makes the visit here complete! See larger than life art carved out by nature herself and admire the shades of yellows, greens, gold and whites that colour the mountain’s tapestry. The nearby lighthouse is a good place to take a quick walk around. A rather secluded, small beach makes this place a rather relaxing picnic spot while the orchids and wild figs that adorn the whole place during spring season, become a loved spot for those who are romantic at heart. Don’t forget to explore the area on foot- you might just end up discovering a new cave or tunnel on your own! End the day with a hearty picnic at sunset and you have the perfect day in Lagos!

Ponta Da Piedade Reviews & Ratings
Beautiful place with lots of opportunities for beautiful photography. You can use a safe walkway, or be on the cliffs themselves, but you'll have to be careful if you do. It can be very windy here, so if you freeze easily it could be an idea to bring warmer clothes.
Gorgeous area to spend a few areas relaxing by the cliffs and water. Many great "secret" trails help to spread out the tourists so that the area doesn't feel too crowded. However, parking in the area can be difficult would recommend carpooling, taking the beach bus or taking a bike out here instead of driving.
Great spot to visit! Wonderful path along the cliff and great caves to visit. Ideal to go and visit before sunset and perhaps enjoy an aperitif. One of the must places to visit in Lagos!
Beautiful, amazing views!! But wear shoes so you can properly explore this area. Parking lot was easy to find parking, the drive in was a little crazy with people trying to park for the beaches leading in.
One of the best hikes I have ever gone on. Some of the best views and sights I saw while in Portugal. I would recommend visiting the point, that is easiest to get to from the road. We walked from a beach about 5 km away. Along the way, there were a variety of beaches and places to tan/relax. We went on a boat excursion the next day and it was awesome to see the caves close up. I would highly recommend both walking and boating along this area.
