By far the most scenic spots around Algarve, the Praia do Camilo beach can be accessed by climbing down 200 steps that open into the landscape view of the sandstone cliffs and small outcrops embraced by the blue water and the warm, golden sand. This beach is located between the Dona Ana Beach and the Boneca Beach and even though not as grand, the shallow waters beckon swimmers and sun bathers from all around the world.
You can see the blue waters adorned with sea stacks that have been cut out by the water over the years from the mainland. During high tide, most of the beach is engulfed by the ocean but on sunny afternoon, the cosy beach offers the best place to unwind and get that tan you have always wanted!
The restaurant on the cliff offers a stunning view of the whole beach. Stop by here to sip on some delicious drinks and to try the local food varieties (the fresh seafood served here is absolute heaven!).

Praia Do Camilo Reviews & Ratings
Nice hotel, old but clean with great service. Good food, swimming pool nice. Good value for money. Bit noisy over night but people are here on holiday for fun so fully acceptable. Will recommended.
Fabulous views, great beach space (but watch the tides!) And a nice stairway to safety get you down and up the hillside. Parking can be tight, but well worth the effort.
Absolutely gorgeous beach!!! Crystal clear waters and nice for a swim. Not warm water, but great on a hot day. The main beach which is right in front of the stairs is always seriously packed. I like the small beaches to the left side after passing through a little tunnel better. Better to get there early. By 4 PM the sun is already hidden at the little beaches, but still at the main one a bit longer.
Breathtakingly beautiful beach. Despite July, the water is cold, so be prepared. Good diving and surfing place. A lot of sightseeing speedboats, but it's understandable.
5 stars for the view and its position on the cliff. The last time we were here Camilo was just a quaint shack on the cliff top where you could get a good but cheap lunch. Now a modern building and have to make reservations to eat and prices to boot! It has lost it's charm and atmosphere. We were disappointed on that point so can only score it 3 stars. That's progress I suppose.
