  • By far the best waterfall hike on Oahu, and we've hiked them all. You can swim here. There are 3 waterfalls here. Very easy trail up until you get to the falls then it very steep, definitely worth it. I recommend getting a hiking trail app just to resure you stay on the trail, because there is a lot of side trails, most are picture oppurtunitys, but can get confusing And the permit you need to get is 100% free, just n agreement saying you wont destroy anything Overall, a must hike on Oahu

  • The closest parking to the hiking trail is at the park outside, about a mile to the trail entrance. Also you are suppose to have a permit to access. Be very careful if it has just rained or is raining. We made the mistake of going while it was drizzling which made it very difficult and at times dangerous. Overall we loved the experience and the different terrains and sights. The total hike to the car and back is about 8,5 miles which took us about 5 hours in the mud and sitting at the falls for about 15/20 minutes. I would say this hike is intermediate/advanced , there are a few tricky areas that are steep and/or extremely narrow.. one wrong move and you could fall off the mountain. Wonderful hike and I would recommend for the variety of scenery and has some of the best views of the mountains!

  • Beautiful hike, trail was a bit tricky. Lots of nice views and a variety of vegetation to enjoy. You want to follow the ribbons on the trees, pink and blue when we went, as there are a few forks in the trail. The last part of the hike took much longer than we thought. We got to the tall Cook Pine trees and thought we were almost there, but it is quite a bit further, or seemed that way b/c of the mud. Just keep going through the tunnel of red-barked guava trees and eventually you'll see the sign that directs you down to the falls. The falls aren't real tall, but they are beautiful and it is a peaceful spot. Tough one for kids, but doable. Have fun!

  • Prepare to get muddy if it's rained, and watch your step towards the top. Very scenic and diverse, and the waterfall at the top was cherry. Stay safe and have fun!

  • The view throughout the hike was wonderful. Parking was confusing, we didn't know where to park so we just parked in front of the trail head which starts at a yellow cattle gate behind some fields. We only passed 5 people on our hike. We happened to go the day after a flood warning so the trail was very muddy and some parts were slippery. The falls are about 20 mins after you enter the second tunnel of red trees. The falls were really refreshing to swim in but the bottom is made up of rocks covered in moss so it was slippery as well. The hike to the falls from the trail head is 8 miles. It took us, a group of 5 who don't go hiking often, 3 hours to get there and just under 2 to get back. Be cautious when on the climb down to the falls if it recently rained it will be slippery and it is mostly rocks. Overall the hike was beautiful and enjoyable just plan on a 5 hour hike.
