The Fulton Theatre is supposedly the oldest working theatre in the United States. Named after Robert Fulton, the man behind steam engines in Lancaster, this is one of the three theatres in the country that is recognized as a National Historic Landmark. The theatres stages performances like Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, James and the Giant Peach for kids. Adult plays like Veronica’s Room and 4000 Days are also staged here. Besides these, there are special performances every week that exhibit local talent, Fulton’s own stories and plays about Lancaster’s rich history.
