Langcliffe lies within one of eight regions covered by the Yorkshire Dales National Park, which was "established in 1954, and covers an area of 1,762 square kilometres in the north of England, straddling the central Pennines in the counties of North Yorkshire and Cumbria."The River Ribble runs parallel to the east of Langcliffe.
