Dataran Lang - Review
This is one of the most popular man made attraction on the islands and is also called as eagle square. It includes a large eagle sculpture posed to take a flight and is 12 meter in height. Due to its popularity, the great eagle has become one of the icons of Langkawi and attracts a lot of tourists to it. The square is picturesque and offers you a platform to watch ferries ply across the harbor.
It can be reached by a ferry ride which is pretty much enjoyable. The Dataran Lang has miniature fountains, bridges and terraces and sunset watching is a tourist’s favorite activity here.

Dataran Lang, Langkawi Island Reviews
Basically just a large statue of an eagle, worth a look while on the island. If you like shopping there is a shopping complex at the pier as well as loads of tourists. If you need to tick it off your list fine do it, if not you can fill some time if you need to. Done it once, no need to do it again. There are much nicer places on the island to kill time.
This place is extremely hot in the afternoon. Come here in the evening. You can get good photos of the eagle when the sun goes west. Later near dusk you can visualise sunset, take beautiful photos of the ships around here and silhouettes if you like. Of late fountains with colored lights are added.
Basically just a statue of an eagle. Well made but that's it there. H The park around the corner is nice. You can relax there or just sit by the beach. Driving there just to the see the eagle, when you're somewhere else in the island is most probably not recommendable.
Seems cool, new and still partially under construction. We weren't there for long. There are plenty of food n drink places and various small stores. The massive Eagle Rock sculpture is the main attraction, but it looks like an amusement park is being built just down the road.
Lots of good photo options, a few tourist shops with drinks, ice cream, and souvenirs, and close to the jetty. Not much else to do. Take a walk through the park nearby, much more photo ops.
