About Pasir Tengkorak Beach, Langkawi Island

ThePasir Tengkorak Beach is a secluded beach located to the north of Langkawi and has a nearby forested area and park to add to its charm. The beach has amenities like bathrooms, shower rooms and also prayer rooms. Often you will see families spend an overnight trip here and even cooking their own meals.

The name of the beach translates to ‘the skull beach’ since legend says that the skulls of the people engulfed by the massive hailstorm that overturned and wrecked ships that passed the Malacca Strait, were washed to this shore.

Today, the beach is a perfect getaway form the hustle-bustle of the busy city life and is perfect if you are looking for a calm, tranquil place when in Langkawi.
