Pasir Tengkorak Beach - Review

ThePasir Tengkorak Beach is a secluded beach located to the north of Langkawi and has a nearby forested area and park to add to its charm. The beach has amenities like bathrooms, shower rooms and also prayer rooms. Often you will see families spend an overnight trip here and even cooking their own meals.

The name of the beach translates to ‘the skull beach’ since legend says that the skulls of the people engulfed by the massive hailstorm that overturned and wrecked ships that passed the Malacca Strait, were washed to this shore.

Today, the beach is a perfect getaway form the hustle-bustle of the busy city life and is perfect if you are looking for a calm, tranquil place when in Langkawi.

  • Pasir Tengkorak Beach is a very nice and relaxing beach. There isn’t too much there, just the sand, the sea, and the islands in the distance. If you’re just playing around in the sand, you won’t find any shells but you will find quite a lot of rocks there. When we went there we dug up some interesting looking rocks, some big, some small, oddly shaped or even different colored ones! It was a strange sight to see people coming to the beach even when it was raining! The only thing that would make it better is if it could have any restaurants or something else there too. But other than that, it’s a really nice place and I’m sure you’ll like it. It is a nice tucked away beach out of the sight so it is pleasantly clean, quite and calm. Perfect for a family afternoon.

  • Beautiful little beach with a small waterfall river that goes towards the sea. To spend a good day with the family. You will find a lot of monkeys on the beach, be careful not to leave your affairs unattended, the monkeys will not hesitate to take them

  • Beautiful, serene peach with hardly any waves. A lovely place to escape, please take your rubbish with you. Good parking on the shore, a small cafe.

  • IMHO the best beach on the island. It is small, remote and secluded. Nice benches and swings. Clear water. Great views.

  • Really love when i first saw it. Clean clear blue ocean. And the vast beach also magnificent
