Charleston Lake Provincial Park, Lansdowne Reviews

  • Tough review to write. As far as our campsite goes it was the worst of all the Provincial Parks we've been too. There is very little privacy. The next campsite is literally RIGHT beside you. The ground was full of gravel and roots from trees. Very few grassy sites. And the one we saw were very small and open with zero privacy. There were a few sites that were right beside the lake. But those were mostly electric sites for RVs. Now this park has excellent trails for hiking. We didn't even bother with our bicycles because the roads were too narrow and none of the trails were conducive to riding. Great views of the lake. Friendly staff.

  • Love this place. We had a few roudy neighbours this year. The park staff did the best they could, but it made for a rather unpleasant experience. The David Archibald show at the amphitheatre was great, as was the learn to fish clinic for the kids. If you go here, look at the activities that are planned. They are free and well worth it.

  • Charleston Lake Provincial Park is great for all ages. This place is very scenic and can turn anyone into have a fond relationship with nature. The park now has a newly improved trailer dump and water fill up station that is accessible for the larger trailers to use. The trails are outstanding in the park and staff are very friendly and open to any questions. The maintenance team here really sets the bar superior for other parks to follow. I highly recommend a visit if you want to wander off the path for a day or a week or however long you wish.

  • Nice lake, beach was great to cool off in! Not much of a breeze during the heat wave though, made for warm camping trip. Don’t keep garbage out for too long, raccoons wont take long to find it. Common garbage/dumpster bins should be emptied more often to prevent raccoons from getting to overflow garbage. Bathrooms could be cleaner.

  • Camp is well maintained clean and has a variety of activities. Several trails for hiking . Some with wheelchair accessible areas. Several very nice private campsites.
