Garhwali Musuem, Lansdowne Reviews
It is located near the DIAS stadium... (If have written it correctly 😂) I remember when I was in a junior class, our school took our junior section to this Museum... Then only I had got a chance to visit this place.... It had old weapons .. Coins... etc intresting things..
Great muesum, they have rifles, coins, kings dresses, medals like veer chakra on displays. Lots of other items also available like ancient scripting on rocks, literature and mission reports of famous historical military operations. No photography allowed inside the museum. You can also watch army parade there at 7pm!
Very nicely maintained museum by Garhwal regiment showing their legacy and proud moments in serving country. I like this place very much and specially photos of our great warrior, their devotion for motherland. Never before seen such old rifles and other ammunition captured from Pakistanis in war. They have also maintained nice park in surrounding a perfect blend for war and peace.
Whatever you do, don't miss this place. It is a gem for anyone interested in history, weapons and respect our brave armymen. For the uninitiated, this place also has some 50+ weapons on display from WW2 and it is a delight to be able to witness them in this era. There's an actual Harrier on display outside the musem and they also have a MG42 on display which you can touch!!!! All for just INR 20 pp.
It's a wow place for Indian army lovers! Must visit to closely understand our defence history and great stories of martyrs. You will feel proud to know about our soldiers after visiting this place. Truely inspirational experience! Salute to Indian army!!
