Tarkeshwar Mahadev - Review
Located at a distance of about 38 kilometers from the main town of Lansdowne, the Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the best places to visit in this scenic hill station. The temple is at a height of about 1800 meters and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Many sages around India visit this temple, thanks to its perfect location. The Deonar trees and less touristy activity make a great setting for meditation. The name gets it’s name from demon Tarkeshwar who worshipped Lord Shiva for a boon at this particular spot. The temple is bustling with devotees from Lansdowne and nearby areas during Mahashivratri, a festival dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Tarkeshwar Mahadev, Lansdowne Reviews
Temple of lord Shiva at an unexpected unforgettable place. Temple has meadow around itself. There is a small pond, don't think of bathing there. Tall deodar trees surround temple complex. Very clean place. Last 5-6 km approach road is a narrow lane, be safe when you drive. Road is non existent, it is all debris from landslide. Once you complete this tough ride, you'll be happy you came that far and took risk.
Excellent place, true nature at its awesome best... Little away from population... Lacks eateries around... Better carry your own stuff if you plan to visit for few hrs
Holistic place and in very calm area. Far from cities and dust. You will really love the kind and calmness of place. Come with food and have in temple premises.
Great place with long trees and peace of mind. Different experience.... Loved it.
Lovely place to visit, it's a famous Shiv temple surrounded by forests, you can visit easily by own vehicle instead of using public transport, around 1km walking distance from parking
