Located at a distance of about 38 kilometers from the main town of Lansdowne, the Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the best places to visit in this scenic hill station. The temple is at a height of about 1800 meters and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Many sages around India visit this temple, thanks to its perfect location. The Deonar trees and less touristy activity make a great setting for meditation. The name gets it’s name from demon Tarkeshwar who worshipped Lord Shiva for a boon at this particular spot. Visited Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple. Very awesome place to go anytime you are free. The ambiance here is great. Here, there is absolute silence. This is very cold and calm place even when the weather in the plane is dearly hot. This place is surrounded by trees all around. The way to reach this temple is very good and a lot of mountains come in the way. And the view there in the way is just awesome. The temple is simply awesome surrounded by trees all around. This place is cold. Must visit destination for nature lovers and religious people. Spent very refreshing time.
- It is an amazing place to be. - The way to temple is lush green and silent. Road to the temple is also well made and maintained - area surrounding the temple is also beautiful - you will something to eat only before the starting of the mandir way - you will enjoy the beauty of nature and
Excellent place, true nature at its awesome best... Little away from population... Lacks eateries around... Better carry your own stuff if you plan to visit for few hrs
Holistic place and in very calm area. Far from cities and dust. You will really love the kind and calmness of place. Come with food and have in temple premises.
Good Ambience, you have to walk 200m to reach temple. You can buy prasad before starting the trek. There are benches in between so you can take rest while going towards temple. Just beside temple, there is a small hill park with benches where you can enjoy the peaceful environment. Not much people in weekdays. Better reach before 12 otherwise it can get sunny sometimes and beware of monkeys. They will steal your spectacles and mobiles.
