The Casa Museo y Monumento al Campesino museum and monument were built to immortalize the hardwork of Lanzarote’s rural community whose efforts changed a barren land into a fertile one and thus farming and agriculture grew in the area. The monument one can see at the museum is dedicated to Fertility and was created by César Manrique with water tanks of old fishing boats. On display at the museum are a collection of utensils and implements used by farmers through the times.
