Jameos Del Agua - Review

The Jameos del Agua is a natural and then manmade wonder and is located inside the volcanic tunnel created by the eruption of La Corona Vulcano. Within it is a geological formation- an internal lake! The Jameos was conceived by island born artist and architect Cesar Manrique, during the 1960's. His plan was to fuse art with nature. The end result? A marvellous creation on his native Lanzarote! You have to visit the site to believe it.

  • This place was amazing. Very interesting and beautiful sanctuary for crabs. I remember walking down the stairs not quite sure what this place actually was and looking into the lagoon with the music playing and seeing all the little white dots in the water (crabs) was too beautiful. The whole volcanic corruption of the place makes it all the more beautiful. There is also an auditorium which has been made inside a volcanic cave. Very interesting! Sign posts in English

  • Can be very crowded with lots of bus tours. Nice covered stairs down to the tunnel with the lake and albino crabs. It is very crowded around here at times, especially with all the bus tours. Lots of space to see the crabs. The ability to sit around the pool is nice, we had a drink and a sit down around the pool. Some of the museum is under renovation at the moment which was a shame but we still enjoyed it. The auditorium was nice to look at. There is also a museum here too which explains volcanoes.

  • At 7.60 euro per person we were not sure what to expect. All I can say is we ate the most fabulous meal in a cave restaurant, and saw one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. If I could give this more than five stars I would as the mixture of nature and architecture is sublime. This is our most favourite attraction on the island. Incredible place.

  • Interesting and informative about the history of the archipelagos volcanic origins. Stunning location, worth a visit both as a guided tour or as a hire car visitor. Easily the best of the Cesar attractions we visited, check out the islands multiple location ticket options online there is also an app. which we sadly didn't find until we'd finished our trip, but it saves a fair bit on the price which is a little steep, although still worth it for the quality of the locations included.

  • Lovely place, very unusual. Not like any place I've ever visited before. Worth a visit. You can buy a ticket at a discount to get you in to other places close by. We spent the day around there at 3 different sites. Only an hours drive from where we stayed in Playa Blanca at the opposite end of the island.
