The Jameos del Agua is a natural and then manmade wonder and is located inside the volcanic tunnel created by the eruption of La Corona Vulcano. Within it is a geological formation- an internal lake! The Jameos was conceived by island born artist and architect Cesar Manrique, during the 1960's. His plan was to fuse art with nature. The end result? A marvellous creation on his native Lanzarote! You have to visit the site to believe it.

  • I didn't know what to expect when I visited here on the recommendation of one of my friends and I have to say i was pleasantly surprised - the cave is great and it's quite relaxing just to sit at one side and watch the people all going through. Then when you get to the other side it definitely has a bit of a wow factor- I would love to come here for an event. They have music evenings where you can also have dinner. Honestly it is a hidden gem and I would recommend.

  • I went to this place twice. The 2 star rate needs explanations : If I had separate rating, it would go this way : - The place : 4/5 - The night concert : 5/5 - The restaurant : 0/5 For the place , it's both beautiful by day and night, stunning pool under the sun, but also with the lights and the stars above it . The walk near the lake in the cave is even more beautiful by night because it's enlightened ! And the concert by night , was one of the best activity I had on the island ! But for the restaurant... Kind of a disaster, because for the price you expect a level of service. The waiters were not caring about us that much. We had cold meals and they had a hard time trusting us they it was cold so they had to send it back to kitchen... And you could feel it was below average quality. I had meat, which was the worst I had at Lanzarote. The dessert looked like the one you can get for 1€ in a supermarket. In the end, my night was saved by the concert of local group. I recommend the place. Just don't eat there, it's definitely not worth the price ...

  • Totally the best place in the island! A tourist has to see this, even if the place is often crowded. You can reach it by bus or with a car rented. Inside there is a dark gallery with a lake full of white shrimps! Unique spot! There's also a restaurant where you enter and then a relaxing and awesome place around a swimming pool with palms and cactus. An amphitheatre is also hidden in a cave and there are often shows there. A museum about the origin of Lanzarote close the visit. For me, it is an amazing place, really a paradise!

  • Beautiful place. Natural & man made artfully blended. You need to be able to cope with lots of irregular steps. Best value as part of a composite ticket. Good toilets.

  • This is probably the most beautiful place I have ever been. There are no words to describe the experience so you should really try it yourself. This was the first work of the artist Manrique and it's truly amazing. The best time is during the night shows twice a week. It can be very crowded though.
