Jameos Del Agua - Review

The Jameos del Agua is a natural and then manmade wonder and is located inside the volcanic tunnel created by the eruption of La Corona Vulcano. Within it is a geological formation- an internal lake! The Jameos was conceived by island born artist and architect Cesar Manrique, during the 1960's. His plan was to fuse art with nature. The end result? A marvellous creation on his native Lanzarote! You have to visit the site to believe it.

Jameos Del Agua, Lanzarote Reviews

  • Wow! Such a perfect experience of nature, food and culture. This place is one of a kind and everyone involved seem to know it. It is kept in pristine condition since it was built and everything was sparkling clean. Do not miss 'Jameos Nights' every Tuesday and Saturday and also on Wednesday in the summer months. The chance to see the cave in daylight, twilight and dark (with stunning lights) is remarkable and the food and concert were first class. The highlight of our visit to this beautiful, romantic island. If you are considering a destination wedding I would have asked if they do weddings, it's a dream venue if they do!

  • Beautiful, and the Jameos nights dinner+concert is amazing (with amazing value! 40€ per person for entry+great food+concert). I'd strongly recommend going to the dinner, and getting there 60-90 minutes before, to enjoy the cave and museum before dark. The place is a work of art merged with nature, really unique. Not to be missed when visiting Lanzarote. Also some of the best food we had on the island - not "tourist trap" quality, really good food.

  • This is another stunning example of Cesar Manrique's architectural genius. The entire structure serves to emphasize its natural setting in the volcanic lava tubes that create the underground pool and concert hall. Check the website for music performances which are an amazing way to hear the natural acoustics in the lava tube concert hall. Highly recommended.

  • Amazing place, amazing architecture. Place definitely worth the visit. Sadly you can't swim in that pool. However really nice place and relaxing as well. You have also a restaurant and a bar in the vicinity if you need a snack or you want a lunch. I haven't paid the entrance because i had the combo ticket which I suggest.

  • A beautiful place to walk around for an hour or two.. 9.50 euro entry and once inside there are a couple of small eateries and a resturant that is open certain times of the day.. A good place to get snap happy with the camera and also to soak up the very tranquil vibe that seems to emanate from the place
