About Jameos Del Agua, Lanzarote
The Jameos del Agua is a natural and then manmade wonder and is located inside the volcanic tunnel created by the eruption of La Corona Vulcano. Within it is a geological formation- an internal lake! The Jameos was conceived by island born artist and architect Cesar Manrique, during the 1960's. His plan was to fuse art with nature. The end result? A marvellous creation on his native Lanzarote! You have to visit the site to believe it.

Jameos Del Agua, Lanzarote Reviews
Definitely worth visiting this attraction just for the views. Small fee for entry and cheaper after 3pm. Not wheelchair friend or if you have reduced mobility as you you required to go up and down lots of steep steps. Views are magnificent despite being under ground. Restaurant, cafe, natural pools, stage with seating are and educational area.
Dec. '17 A fascinating visitors attraction in the Jameos National Park. The attraction is an underground pool containing unique tiny white crabs. The pool is in a collapsed lava tube which is formed when lava flows from an open volcanic vent and the outer layer cools off rapidly solidifying forming a crust on the flow. When the lava stops flowing it all drains out of the crust & leaves an empty lava tube. It's well worth a visit just to walk through this natural historical phenomenon. There is a nice cafe & gift shop there too. The surrounding area is a national park so relatively unspoilt by development. There are public footpaths to follow through the park to the sea.
Loved the tiny crabs that are unique in the world but could have done without the man made hotel lobby style pool. The juxtaposition of the natural pool with the crabs and this new creation wasn't my cup of tea. If you were hoping for an authentic experience... this isn't it. The coffee shop, the gift shop, and the auditorium make this feel like a tourist trap. Not worth the price of admission.
Nice place but even in February plenty of visitors. Must be rammed in the summer. A unique Canarian experience, with underground lake with tiny white crabs. Plenty of places for food and drink too. Beautiful outside lake as seen in the photo. About an hour north of Arricefe.
Excellent experience at this centre. Great, calming views in the sub-terranian lake. Cafe bar at either end of the complex. The resource centre is worth a look for an educational view of volcanic life on the island. Also a gift shop upstairs on the way out with reasonably priced goods.
