Great experience. Windy in the morning but the kids headed out for their first time lessons anyway. They spent most of the day on the magic carpet. Great instructor who took care of them and they had plenty of breaks as well as ski time. 5 yr old wants to go back tomorrow. Resort in general was good. Lifts were a little slow but with no lines who can complain. No fresh snow but plenty to push around on the edges of runs. Great base with plenty of space to spread out and encouragement of brown bag lunches. I had a burger which was priced in line with reality (unlike most ski areas) and the kids had chicken strips. Overall great experience as a family. Somewhere like Winter Park could learn a lot from snowy range about customer experience and getting back to basics instead of chasing $$
NOT for beginners! The magic carpet/bunny hill is so unbelievably steep and the snow is packed to a somewhat icy nastiness. My 6yr old (3rd season skiing) slid down the magic carpet (while going up it correctly) and fell. The operator did NOT stop it at all, then told us “we recommend taking one ski off”. You should not need to take a ski off to ride a magic carpet! My younger kids didn’t even get a chance to ski because it was so bad. Overall it was the worst ski area I’ve ever been to.
It was so much fun and I highly recommend snowy range
Small vertical compared to larger resorts, but very affordable. Hero day was very nice!
We love coming up here for the day whether it's during the summer or during the winter. During the winter you can sit up in the lounge area and watch everyone ski and have their wonderful catastrophes. They also have a very decent Restaurant and Bar that are really nice and segregated from the rest of the tables were people can bring their own food and snacks. They also have a store that allows you to purchase any items you might have left it at home so you can enjoy your skiing experience. Along with many different types of ski areas for all levels. During the summer it's just beautiful to go out on a hike on
