Snowy Range Ski Area, Laramie Reviews

  • Great mountain for what it is. Very cheap. Not big, the runs are fairly short but it's under $50 and never crowded. We were there today and someone told us it was very "crowded". We never waiting more than a couple minutes in a lift line and were able to find a table in the lodge for lunch. I am an intermediate to advanced skier and wad able to do every run on the mountain without a problem, so if you're looking for challenging terrain this isn't your mountain.

  • Great family friendly resort. Good terrain for learning and challenging enough to keep things interesting. We have been coming here for several seasons and have really enjoyed skiing here

  • Snowy Range is better than I expected; I am a ski snob who has skiied Colorado, Utah and Washington for 44 years. I recently moved to northern Colorado, and this is the closest ski area; 100 miles and almost two hours. I wasn't expecting much, so I was surprised to find rather new buildings, a huge cafeteria, bar, rental shop, accessories and nice ski runs. They don't post elevations, so the drop and length of runs are hard to estimate. The two lifts open were old 1960's doubles, but they are fine and get you to the top in a few minutes. I'm looking forward to trying their black runs when they get more snow. The best part is, since I am a senior, my season pass is FREE! Thank you, Snowy Range! I appreciate that!

  • This is the best hidden gem of a ski area that I hope the owners can profit from, while still maintaining the great price. I was a "ski bum" for years in Colorado, but after having kids of my own, when it came time to teach them to ski, I took them to Snowy Range. This ski area has expert, intermediate and beginner slopes, something for everyone! I was able to afford to take everyone with rentals and teach them to ski and get in some skiing in for myself.

  • Snowy Range is a great and frankly underrated ski resort. If you buy tickets on Liftopia, you can usually get a day pass to ski for less than $40. That's just unheard of these days in Colorado. If you're in Northern Colorado, it's about the same distance of a drive to head up I25 or highway 287 to Snowy Range. The mountain isn't massive, but they have good runs and usually good snow. They have four lifts. If you're facing the mountain from the lodge/restaurant area, expert runs and the terrain park are off to the right. Blues and greens are in the middle areas. To the near left is the bunny hill with its own lift. My favorite area is off to the far left. They're are some beautiful blue and black runs that are just a joy to fly down. Oftentimes this side of the mountain is less visited, so if you're lucky, you can find a ton of powder. This far left lift is one of the longer ones too, and the top of the mountain has wonderful views. I believe it's called Sundance, and one thing to be aware of is that it closes at 3:30 PM whereas the mountain closes at 4:00 PM. Overall, I love this resort. It's a great value for the price and still offers a lot of great mountain.
