The Mediterranean climate of this island means that it is sunny all year through. Summers are long, dry and scorching, with sea breezes that cool the nights. Winters are mild, but wet and windy. Rain falls between November and March, with January being the wettest month.
Although summer (June to August) is very hot, it is still the season that brings the most tourists to the region. There is a lot going on during summer, but if you are looking for a quieter visit try the short, but comfortable, seasons of autumn and spring, especially during October or April.
