  • Interesting small displays at the visitors center. Clean bathrooms. Beautiful trails. We spent several hours hiking. Saw a variety of birds including "green jays." Beautiful. There are several bird blinds and gazebos to rest and enjoy the scenery. Also one one trail you can hike to an old cemetery. Fascinating and worth the hike!

  • Driving there is still difficult because of construction, but this place is worth the detours. There is a small visitors center surrounded by trails and bird blinds. You will see most of your Rio Grande Valley Specialities in that small loop. Then there is the other trails that you can walk to explore. They aren't all very close. It is recommended to drive to a few. Osprey overlook is usually a great spot for birding. You have herons, terns, pelicans, ducks, etc. Close to this is Alligator Pond. My favorite thing to do though is come for the Habitat Tram Tours. 3 hrs long, but you learn about everything and get a chance to see Aplomado Falcons, armadillos, bobcats or ocelots if you're lucky. Clean restrooms. Great parking.

  • An absolute must see over and over again. This would be a reason to travel to the deep south of Texas

  • Nice place to visit and go for a walk out in trails. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

  • Great birding, still waiting to catch sight of a gator
