The Bowl of Fire is a region of brilliant red sandstone outcrop that probably belongs to the Jurassic Age and remains surrounded by gray limestone mountains. Some of the Sandstone Mountains are also covered in black volcanic rocks that create a unique orange and black look. It is a place to wander at the spectacle of nature comprising of a jumbled pile of red sandstone. People often come here to hike with no particular destination in mind. The loop Route runs 8 miles and circles the northern section of the Bowl of Fire. The hike isn’t really challenging but it’s easy to get confused in the numerous paths.

Bowl Of Fire Reviews & Ratings
The Bowl of Fire is a large area with several different trailheads to hike the different ares. The Southwest Bowl of Fire can be accessed from mile marker 18 on Northshore Drive. There is a pretty good trail from the parking area that leads to the bowl. You can also access the trail from Callville Wash North Road, but this road can be sandy or muddy, but you save 1/2 mile. I could spend all day exploring the amazing sandstone formations, arches, grottos, and various patterns in the sandstone.
