The Luxor is a pretty nice hotel to stay at if you don't plan on doing a lot of sight seeing near the strip. The room is a bit small with no fridge. (They did offer an upgrade at check-in. But an extra $20 a night for just a fridge? No thanks.) And a mediocre view. It is also pretty far from the heart of the strip. It is easy to get around if you want to visit nearby (Excalibur/MGM Grand/New York, New York) but anywhere further than that is a fairly far walk. The beds are comfortable, dining is okay and the casino has a good layout. However, the pool closes at 7PM. Which is one of the main reasons I'm rating this a 3/5 instead of a 4 or 5. Even staying open until 9 or 10 would make a huge difference. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you are here on business or other matters other than sight seeing. Otherwise, there are other hotels with similar pricing in better locations that I would recommend before the Luxor.
Employees are cordial at best. The staff was friendly and polite but I felt as though something was missing. If I were to guess I would guess that they are not happy with their employer. We all like perks so passing these perks down the chain of command would do wonders for the Luxor. Rooms were average, bathroom sundries could be improved. Pool should be open from 7pm to 11pm for adults only. With no charge to hotel guests.
We stayed in the pyramid for 2 nights. Our first room smelled like a boys' locker room. They were very cooperative in giving us another room. The Luxor is a fascinating building. Unfortunately, it has not been well-maintained. We stayed at two hotels while in Vegas. Since the first one was very elegant, switching to the Luxor was a huge disappointment. BTW, if you are a nonsmoker, beware; smoking is allowed almost everywhere in Vegas, including the Luxor where you can see the residue build-up on the walls.
Very roomy casino, spacious rooms, and well maintained. Casino smells of tobacco smoke; Hard Rock Hotel covers the odor much better. Rooms have a neutral odor though (: As for cleanliness, I've gone out in the morning, noticing a used room service tray in the hallway; I've come back late in the evening and it was still there. Disrupted the appearance of decent facilities. Overall though, a solid experience. Fourth floor rooms are decently priced for the size.

The Luxor is a really cool hotel to visit when staying in Vegas. I cannot speak for how the rooms are because I have never actually stayed in the hotel before, but the Casino and general entertainment is nice. The Luxor has a nice selection of restaurants to choose from and is home to quite a few exhibits. While we were there we saw the Bodies exhibit as well as the Titanic artifacts. Both very cool and came in a bundle deal which saved us some money. The inside looks really cool and is laid out in such a way that things are easy to find. The casino is fairly large and the elevators are really cool to ride (they move up and diagonally along the pyramid). The buffet is pretty on par with other buffets in Vegas. They don't have the largest selection but it is a nice layout. My only complaint is the location. Although it is very easy to travel between Excalibur, The Luxor and Mandalay bay because of the walkways between them- to get to the rest of the strip is kind of a hike. Still, this is a must see on the list of Vegas hotels.
