Located along the Mersey River, the Warrawee Forest Reserve can be your golden opportunity to sight the elusive Platypuses thriving in their natural habitat without the intervention of mankind. Guided tours are provided for the tourists to sight and photograph platypus. The best time to visit the reserve is dawn, dusk, and late afternoon as platypus and other wildlife namely Pademelons, Echidnas, Wallabies are active during those times. The Warrawee Forest Reserve is equipped with picnic area, barbeque pits, and nature walks which will let you spot animals and the elusive orchids in the forest. You can also see the remnants of coal and shale mining of the European settlements.
