Restaurants have to be something special to qualify as attractions. This lunchtime wine and cellar outfit, a 15 minute drive out of Launceston, set in an 1880s historic homestead, and located in the middle of vineyards and landscaped gardens, is exactly that. Not only do you get to try out various wines - Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot, Gris, Sauvignon, Blancmade - made from the best of Tasmanian grapes, you get to do so with a lovely view of the landscape and the winery. Tours of the winery are held every week on Sunday, and that’s definitely when you should visit. The place is also occasionally hired out for weddings and corporate functions.
