National Automobile Museum Of Tasmania - Review

Of the many attractions you came to Tasmania for a breathtaking car collection was probably not one of them. Covering historically significant and utterly stylish vehicles over the last 100 years this museum is a celebration of history and design. Check out the mezzanine floor and its beautiful selection of motorcycles. The exhibits are usually significant in some way to the history of Tasmania, making the museum and even more intriguing visit. Visit the gift store. And come back four times a year for the thematic displays and the rotating exhibits in the main hall. The museum is a labor of love contributed to by volunteers, owners, and car enthusiasts.

  • Loved it! Although here's an option I would have liked. If you could pay a fee to either get a photo next to or in a car, depending on the car of course. I've just always wanted to be inside a DeLorean and would have loved to experience that and of course would have paid for it could be a good chance to print a little marketing that gets brought out and included in the photo so when it's posted online people see your branding. That's my 2c either way I loved it and will return again soon.

  • We spent a leisurely 2 hours walking around the museum. The vehicles are beautifully presented. I particularly liked some of the stories connected to the motor bikes. Really interesting.

  • What a selection of cars and bikes. Glad they had the Charger and GTO Ford when we visited definitely my favorite cars happy I got to see them up close. Amazing collection and a great selection of goods im the shop. Love my Charger coffee mug 😊

  • First time visit and found the museum full of great vehicles. Fascinating collection of road and race cars and bikes. Great smorgasbord for he enthusiast and not so fanatical visitors.

  • A great place to closely examine some of the more iconic cars and motorcycles of Australian motoring history. Well laid out and so clean you could literally eat from the floor. Signage and information is very good and does not leave many questions about what you are looking at. Allow and hour or more to view the exhibits and another 30 minutes to ponder the gift shop. If you are looking for a car related or miniature model, this is the place to find it. There are no guides inside the museum, but there are a few at the front desk happy to chat and answer questions. Well worth the time and money, and as a bonus, Hogs Breath Cafe is across the road.
