The location of this resume feels very natural as it is that far outside the main city. Located on 900 acres of old-growth native bushland, the zoo is home to Tasmanian devils, emus, kangaroos, monkeys and apes, reptiles and more than 80 species of birds. Altogether there are over 1000 animals covering 100 species. Most of the traffic arrives during feeding time. A major children’s delight is the Jurassic Swamp area. It has full size sculptures of over 40 dinosaurs. You can also book the zoo for private events and parties. Unlike other zoos of this size, this is a private family owned the business.

The Zoo gets better every time we go, having added the big cats Lions, Samartran Tigers etc only recently is a great addition, though I thought it strange that the Zoo staff had to jump the small fence rather than have a gate to do the feedings. The other suggestion amongst our party particularly as we aren't getting any younger was more seats/rest spots around the Zoo.
Great Zoo with plenty of diverse animal exhibitions as well as good food and souvenirs. Allow a good few hours to see everything. 😉
Good assortment of animals and you can pay extra for feeding and holding opportunities. Entry we went was $28 per adult with around 75 exhibits. Kept us wandering around for nearly 3 hours
Cost is very high, understandable for size etc, however they should have a family fee comparable to other zoos. Great facility and heaps of wildlife. Worth a visit with family and a great way to spend a couple of hours.
Lots of animals, but kids loved feeding wallabies the most. To me, place needs quite a bit of landscaping (trees, flowers, water ponds, places to relax, a kids play area at the far end not at the entrance). Looks a bit like lined up cages on a vacant land. OK though.
