Le Grand Rex - Review

Le Grand Rex is an exceptionally beautiful concert venue and movie theatre which is noted for its elegant decoration and the outsized main auditorium. It is Europe’s largest cinema theatre and is said to have been built for Jacques Haïk who was a wealthy film producer. The Morrish architecture, water feature and the starry ceiling at the main auditorium is one-of-its-kinds and is known to attract a lot of people. The external façade of Le Grand Rex features huge neon signs and the popular art deco style tower. Whether you are hoping to catch a movie or watch a fantastic concert, this architecturally significant theatre would be an ideal choice.

Le Grand Rex, Paris Reviews

  • Beautiful cinema with smaller, stylish rooms as well as the biggest theater in Paris (which is used for many of Paris's premiers, as well as musical concerts). If there is a downside at all to the Grand Rex, it's that they frequently show American films dubbed in French, so you have to double check the showing if you want to be sure to see it in English. Still, a very pleasant cinematic experience for those of us who love movies!

  • Love this place for concerts! It's beautiful and comfortable. The seats are leather and cushy, they are plenty wide enough and the rows are stacked so that everyone is able to see.

  • The best theatre I have been to so far. It looks like a royal palace inside and out. The screen was the biggest you can see anywhere and its an unforgettable movie experience.

  • Watching Movie the Parisian way in the olden day. Yes why not. Great expereince

  • Excellent wide screen. Clear view. But seats are little tight. Tall people need to take extra care as there is a possibility to loose balance near the seats.
