Eglise Notre-dame-du-pre - Review
Église Notre-Dame-du-Pré is a Roman Catholic church in the heart of Pre, Le Mans. Set on the banks of the river Sarthe, the church presents a lovely view of the surroundings. Dating back to the 11th century, the structure flaunts Romanesque, as well as Gothic style of architecture. It is said that originally, an oratory was built on this site. The church came into being on the oratory’s ruins. While the construction did begin in the 11th century, the structure that we see today was not completed before the 15th century. Home to many architectural and design innovations, the church has crypts, inscriptions, sculptures and vaults. Greeted by the statue of Saint Michael Archangel which is at the entrance of the church, the calmness felt is surprising. Visit this church to not only know a little bit more about the city, but to pray, and spend some time in blissful solitude.
