As the summer sets in the city of Le Mans, you will feel the atmosphere here change. Charged with some excitement and energy, the season is spent celebrating the history and the culture of this glorious city. Lit up in vibrant colours and images is the Old City, and its archaic buildings. There is a sequence that helps the tourists get the best experience out of this story telling. It all starts at the Cathedral Bedside, Saint-Julien cathedral, with the display of “Between Angels and Demons”. Including elements like zodiac signs and plant motifs which strategically enhance the architecture, is a brilliant start to this unique show. Next, head out to the Stairs of the Jacobins. Displaying the story "Birth of the Chimera", this light show portrays chimeras emerging from the waters, before taking off towards the cathedral. Along with the sound and the poems, this show is taken to a whole different level. Make your way towards the cathedrals Romanesque facade. This show “Night of the Chimeras”, shows Angels performing a celestial concert. The magic of light, music and story is like a tribute to the art, as well as the medieval times. The fourth site is the ancient Roman wall, Wall of the Pans-of-Gorron. Making the perfect canvas for this vivid portrait, this 180 meter long wall is stamped with the “Labyrinth of Chimera”. Part of the Roman Cycle of the show, this fresco shows creatures, architects, builders and chimeras. Saint-Hilaire wall is the next spot which tells you the exhilarating tale of the “Masks and the dragon”. Watch the dogs, wolves and dragons of the medieval times here, and then move on to the Garden of the conservatory. “Le Banquet“ puts life into this very interesting tale. You will find yourself in the company of kings, fairies and knights! The show comes to an end with its last site being the Court of the Queen Berengere Museum. The legend of the “White Lady” comes alive here, with a short, but impressive conclusion. A must visit when you are in the city, don’t miss out on this!

  • Amazing show, worth the visit!!

Cela m'a bien plu.
