You will come across the name “Reine Bérengère” very early in your trip, when you explore the city of Le Mans. She is a very important character who shaped the history of this beautiful city. And while people do not know everything about her, she was a strong woman who ruled her people, and her story is told in every household. If “inspiration” was your first impression about her, then a visit to the Musée de la Reine Bérengère is inevitable for you. The building that houses the museum dates back to the 15th century, and is one of the best preserved building in the city. Displaying a number of exhibits, photographs, paintings and ethnological collections, the story of this queen is told in entirety. The museum opened to the public in 1925 with a limited collection, and over the years, artefacts were added and the center became more popular. Not only the exhibits, but the structure that holds them is equally fascinating.

  • Great pictures there
