Checkerboard Hill, an adventure area that involves a short trek to the peak, gives a view of Southwest Saskatchewan and the South Saskatchewan river. This is a fantastic place to stop if you are in the region to see other sights. It is not far from the town of Leader, Saskatchewan and easily accessible. The hill is named for the unique checkerboard pattern that can be seen from above, created by the fields of crops that stretch out in every direction. Visitors get awed by the scenic beauty from the top of the hill and experience the fresh air from the Saskatchewan river. It is also a great spot for picnics, photography and sightseeing.
