Oulton Hall - Review

Olton Hall is one of the best preserved structures of Leeds. Today, it is a Grade II listed building which had once served as the home of the Blayds/Calverley family. After a major fire in 1850 the Hall was restructured and today serves as a 4 star hotel in Leeds, part of the QHotels group. One of the ways to enjoy its historicity is through taking up a space over here during your visit to Leeds. Otherwise, you can just marvel at its historic structure by looking it from outside.

  • My Partner and I booked a table here last night and had a wonderful evening. The food was second to none, presented perfectly, tasted delicious and the portions were perfectly sized. All the waiters we encountered were amazing and made us both feel very valued as customers. From the moment you enter the building you feel welcomed and valued..... the moment you leave you think "when shall we go again" Worth every penny and whilst some might say its a little over priced its worth every penny just to be surrounded by similar people with the same values. Excellent all round, highly recommended and you MUST try the Rhubarb & Custard! Its nothing like you'd expect and I'd go there again just to have that.... AMAZING.

  • Really lovely location. Traditional decor, beautiful architecture, set in stunning surroundings. I wonderful selection of food available, ideal location for afternoon tea or lunch. Easy parking on the doorstep. Private function rooms available for birthdays, weddings etc. If the weather is good, the view sitting/walking, outside is excellent, especially if you want photos of a memorable occasion. Highly recommended!

  • Lovely hotel. Great experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. There is onsite parking for guests at no charge. The spa is very nice, I would recommend the salt body scrub. All robes, slippers and towels are provided by the spa, and there is also an addition robe in your room. The room is nice and spacious and the bathroom is a decent size, however it could be a lot bigger. The surrounding gardens are lovely and really nice to walk around in. There is a champagne bar that is open all night. The breakfast is a self service buffet. Depending on which room you get you I’ll have a nice view of the sun rising and setting. The hotel is easy to get to. The finishing touches throughout the hotel are lovely, and I would recommend dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. A nice experience for a getaway, girls spa weekend or even a venue of a wedding.

  • We stayed for 2 nights for a wedding held here. We paid £ 50 per night more than many sites are offering and got the most basic of rooms which I was not happy about as we were told booking direct was the best way to get a good deal. The wedding itself was wonderful but the food and service was terrible. The drinks over priced and average breakfast. We have stayed in cheaper 3 star hotels that have been nicer. Historical building does not need to mean shabby rooms. The bath was really old and very cracked, the colour was worn off the bath it was so well used, with mouldy patches in the shower area. All in all we wouldn't be returning.

  • Well worth a visit for a pamper session or afternoon tea lovely surroundings. This was once a stately home then was converted into a hospital for the war. Now it's a lovely hotel
