Hall Of Fame - Review

Right outside the Air Force Base, this two-floor museum explores various themes related to Indian army’s role and presence in Ladakh. Most of it focuses on India-Pakistan conflicts in the 20th century. There are artefacts from the wars, a short film about the Kargil War, the role the army has played in various relief missions, an exhibit on extreme cold military wear, a commemorative wall to the fallen, weapons seized from Pakistan, and most famously, a letter sent by a father to his son before his death.

There is also an Adventure Park that provides an obstacle assault course and an archery range that kids might enjoy.

  • Very much enjoyed the educational visit to The Hall of Fame. It's a great showcase of the evolution of Ladakh and the Army's contribution to safeguarding, maintaining and developing the region. It's inspirational, particularly to someone like me who doesn't otherwise have exposure to military/army work. There is a beautiful memorial outside for those who has passed on in service. It is easy to feel emotional. On a practical note, there are washroom facilities and there is a coffee shop outside. A well presented souvenir shop inside is worth a visit, too.

  • Go in noon at this place so that you can enjoy the parade and light sound show in the evening. It is extremely interesting whether you have interest in such things or not. Your mind will be blown by the facts the show introduces you with. The museum in itself is awesome and needs at least 2 hours to know everything.

  • Hall of fame is a Exhibition of Indian armys past efforts in the region, their hard work, sacrifices and prominent missions undertaken by the nation's army. It also displays various equipments, armors, weapons, tools and various literature. It also has a gift and souvenir shop inside the hall. There is a parade ground outside the hall where the Indian army performs a parade and puts a show on the projector in the evening. I have not seen the show and parade. But hall of fame is must visit.

  • A great place which depicts patriotism and the works of our soldiers.. has a small shop which is a part of indian army and very cheap compared to the market price. One can blindly buy souvenirs from here rather than going to market and bargaining. Profit goes to the army. I salute all the soldiers who have given their life for us and who are protecting us🙏🇮🇳

  • Great place to get information on our Military History around Kashmir. Some captured artifacts are also displayed. Makes us feel proud of our Soldiers. Great site to visit.
