Shanti Stupa - Review
Twilight is divine from this elevated spot, three miles from Leh. Whether sunrise or sunset, the changing light brings mystic beauty to the panorama of mountains surrounding the Stupa. The striking structure owes its remarkability to both; it’s isolation and its design. It was designed by a Japanese, and thus is greatly different from the orthodox Ladakhi structures.
This relatively new Stupa was built in 1991. The current and 14th Dalai Lama, who still visits often, himself enshrined the relics of the Buddha that are now housed there. The Shanti Stupa is a symbolic memorial depicting the completion of 2500 years of Buddhism in the world. Visitors can enjoy a brief interlude at the meditation room between climbing to the Stupa and photographing the surrounding mountains.

Shanti Stupa, Leh Reviews
Very beautiful architecture, calm n peaceful. View is just amazing from top. It's easy to reach there by car or bike as roads are good.
It is perhaps the highest point in Leh town. You get a commanding view of Leh City and surroundings from here. As for the Stupa itself it has elaborate carvings and inlay work one can't help but admire. At various times of the day you have monks chanting mantras, sitting in the open, lending a very sombre atmosphere to the place.
View is just amazing from top, it's easy to there by car or bike and also u can go by walk its good for acclimatize very calm and peaceful especially during sunrise or sunset the view it's awesome.....
Amazing place where one can view the whole Leh town from the top. Also amazing views of mountains with shades of sunlight on them, especially at Sunset time. There are two ways to reach on top, by climbing stairs (around 500 steps) from the front & vehicle way (road) from back.
A wonderful place . Completely aesthetic and peaceful . Every inscription on its walls tells a story about Buddha's inspirational life. Loved the place amidst the leh mountains.
