Shanti Stupa - Review
Twilight is divine from this elevated spot, three miles from Leh. Whether sunrise or sunset, the changing light brings mystic beauty to the panorama of mountains surrounding the Stupa. The striking structure owes its remarkability to both; it’s isolation and its design. It was designed by a Japanese, and thus is greatly different from the orthodox Ladakhi structures.
This relatively new Stupa was built in 1991. The current and 14th Dalai Lama, who still visits often, himself enshrined the relics of the Buddha that are now housed there. The Shanti Stupa is a symbolic memorial depicting the completion of 2500 years of Buddhism in the world. Visitors can enjoy a brief interlude at the meditation room between climbing to the Stupa and photographing the surrounding mountains.

Shanti Stupa, Leh Reviews
The Shanti Stupa is a wonderful place to spend an evening in Leh. It is spectacular to see the city as it lights up in the evening. The place remains open till 9 pm and we loved hiking to the peace pagoda which was built by a Japanese in association with the Indian government. It is said original relics of Buddha lie at the base of the structure.
Amazing worshipping place....also has meditation room . Beautiful monastery. Very clean. Has cafeteria. a beautiful place for sight seeing nd offering prayers
Peace at its peak. Has a great view. Not so far from the city. Good for photographers
A splendid monument, enthralling spirituality, and a symbol of collaborative work. Placed on a small hillock near Leh, the spot is an excellent abode to feel sanctity. One has to traverse the Stupa in a clockwise direction only. Very windy and the air is always chilling at this place even in summer. But one should not miss exploring this place and be experiencing the panoramic view of Leh from here. In the distant snow clad mountains, the road leading to Khardung La is visible from here as a faint line in the towering peaks.
-Very peaceful place to visit . -Always go in clockwise direction around the temple . -Nice view of the snow covered mountains from here -nice panorama view of the leh city. -well accessible road to the temple -has rest rooms -nice place to meditate.
