One of the most visited museums in Lemmon, South Dakota, the Grand River Museum attracts thousands of visitors very year. With many displays of the Native American history, cowboy life on the ranch, old-time entertainments, the Bismark Deadwood Trail among many more, this museum also has a display of the legendary Hugh Glass being attacked by a grizzly bear. Excellent! Learned a lot about various periods of history, dinosaurs, cowboys and native americans.
Dinosaur bones & Western History! Wonderful bones dug up from the area as well as other western memorabilia very nicely displayed. It's free!
Very small museum with a great history. Staff is wonderful. Museum is free. John Lopez sculptures are great. Be sure to check out his gallery in town. The museum takes 45-60 minutes to tour. Lemmon is great little town.
