Attracting over 50,000 visitors every year, the Galt Museum & Archives is the largest museum housed in the province south of Calgary. As of 2006, the museum housed a collection of about 300,000 archival documents, 20,000 artifacts, and photographs. These exhibits showcase the history of southern Alberta and Lethbridge. For its “ancestors” exhibit, the museum has been awarded the Museums Alberta Award of Excellence for Exhibitions. The interactive exhibits appeal to visitors of all ages making it an interesting location.
