Spread over 5200 hectares of land, this nature reserve was named after the geologist Hans Merensky. Located on the banks of Letaba river, the whole area of this nature reserve is a grassland providing home to White-breasted Cuckoo shrike, Brown-headed Parrot, Raptors and Wood Sandpipers. This reserve offers plenty of spectacular views through the trails from where you can also observe the animals such as antelope, giraffe, wildebeest, warthog and zebra. You can opt for walking safari or can go for self-driving. If you have an adventurous side, you can also go for biking trails or riding horse. People having a keen interest in the culture and history of South African tribes must visit the Muti Wa Vatsonga Museum. This museum displays great information about Tsonga tribes, their culture and art.
